How it works
TDEE = BMR × an activity multiplier. Eating at your TDEE maintains your weight; eating below it leads to weight loss over time.
Formula
TDEE = BMR × activity factor (1.2 – 1.9)
Example
A BMR of 1,750 with light activity (1.375) gives a TDEE of about 2,400 calories.
Assumptions & limitations
- Based on population formulas that may not fit athletes, pregnancy, children or medical conditions.
