How it works
Each activity has a MET value — how much energy it takes compared to sitting still. Multiplying MET by your weight in kilograms and the hours spent gives estimated calories.
Formula
Calories = MET × weight (kg) × hours
Example
A 170 lb person running at 5 mph for 30 minutes: 8 × 77.1 × 0.5 ≈ 308 calories.

Why is my fitness tracker different?
Trackers use heart rate and motion, while this uses average MET values. Both are estimates.
